CHINA EASTERN LAUNCHES UATP PROGRAM   

Program Offers Corporate Clients Superior Information Management and Security

Shanghai, China, 18 June 2010 - China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd., (Shanghai), announced today the launch of its prestigious UATP-based business travel program, offering Chinese corporations China Eastern Airline's UATP accounts for global air travel spend. To meet customer demands, China Eastern Airlines chose to become a UATP account provider and expand its corporate market share. 

"Within the new strategic structure, China Eastern Airlines is trying to become a customer oriented airline. In the past year, China Eastern Airlines has done in-depth analysis of different customer groups and integrated their air travel requirements which resulted in creative products, such as Easy Travel Card (E card)," said Mr. Ma Xulun, General Manager of China Eastern Airlines. "Account E is an upgraded program related to corporate clients. The product provides stronger and more comprehensive cost analysis support to corporate clients with first hand data. The launching of the program shows that China Eastern Airline's programs are in healthy development and expanding."

CHINA EASTERN, 99BILL, UATP PRESS CONFERENCE, SHANGHAI

To launch the China Eastern program, a press conference was held in Shanghai, 18 June 2010.  The event brought all three partners, plus China Eastern corporate clients to Shanghai for the launch of the program as well as the signing of official documents.  Below are representative pictures from the event.

During UATP’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders on 27 April 2010, the Shareholders of UATP elected several Members to the Board of Directors of UATP.  Each Member will serve a two-year term. 

 

Eduardo Bernardes Neto

GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, Commercial Sales Director

 

Bernardes Neto was elected as the newest Member of the UATP Board of Directors.  He has more than 10 years of experience in aviation and has been with GOL since the beginning of the airline’s operations, in 2001. He was responsible for coordinating the launch of GOL’s domestic and international bases.

 

Patrick Diemer

Lufthansa AirPlus Servicekarten GmbH, Managing Director, Chairman of the Executive Board

 

Diemer joined AirPlus International in April 2003 where he serves as Chairman of the Executive Board.  He leads all marketing and sales activities including the international expansion of AirPlus.  Diemer has been a Member of the UATP Board of Directors since 2003.  

 

Shigeyuki Kamei

Japan Airlines, Vice President, Industry Affairs & Alliance Marketing

 

Kamei began his career with JAL in 1981 and has worked throughout several areas of the airline during his career.  In 1998, as Director of Passenger Marketing & International Affairs, he first represented JAL on the UATP Board of Management.  In line with UATP’s incorporation in 2000, he was elected to the Board of Directors and continued to serve until 2006.   

 

Ralph A. Kaiser
UATP, President and CEO

Kaiser was re-elected as Chairman of the Board.  He has served as President and CEO of UATP since his unanimous election by the Board of Directors in 2003.  He has launched and led UATP on several important growth initiatives resulting in network growth of nearly USD 5 billion in charge volume.  

 

Chris Phillips

Delta Air Lines, Director, Market Development and Distribution Planning

The UATP Board of Directors elected Phillips to complete the remaining term for Delta Air Lines guaranteed Board seat vacated by Tim Kraft earlier this year.  Phillips previously served on the UATP Board and brings more than 15 years of experience with Delta Air Lines.
